OBJECTIVES: The Project Manager provides operational strategy for the systematic planning, collection, and synthesis of publication activities for specific Takeda products in collaboration with among others, Publications Managers, Director, Clinical Sciences, etc. The Project Manager is responsible for the coordination of various project activities related to the operations of publication plans across multiple therapeutic areas, overseeing the progress of specific projects by identifying critical steps, and communicating project-related issues to Publication Manager and Director as well as liaise across functional groups. Using knowledge of scientific principles, research design, and medical or technical writing and clear communication and effective planning skills, the Project Manager will identify problems and propose solutions for the strategic, operational, and resource plans for a given program and coordinate these activities between programs to identify operational synergies and enhance the successful execution of publication plans for Takeda's investigational and commercial products. ACCOUNTABILITIES: Assess challenges within the publications department, critically review options, and assimilate strategies to provide solutions.Develop project strategy, goals, priorities and long-term project plans and schedules for assigned compounds in collaboration with the Publications Manager.Demonstrate strategic thought and resource planning to support multiple projects for various functional teams.Manage project tracking tools to identify and resolve project progress/issues.Facilitate and manage operational aspects of cross-functional teams or working groups related to publication activities.Capture meeting outcomes and determine next steps in terms of the internal publications team or cross-functional communication and coordination of action items.Coordinates resource planning to support publication activities with Clinical Science (TGRD), HEOR, and CSO to ensure publications are produced according to SOPs and in a timely manner.Coordinate data collection from publications manager, finance, legal, and vendors to support the creation and adherence to budgets, master service agreements, and statements of work related to publication activities.Responsible for oversight of vendors, which includes communicating expectations and timelines, ensuring high-quality deliverables received are on time.Communicate effectively with global partners in an appropriate and useful time frame.Present training on or updates to cross-functional teams regarding the publication process/strategy for assigned compound(s).Communicate publication activities and deliverables, both to internal and external customers. EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Required: Bachelor's degree.5 years of pharmaceutical or biomedical industry experience.5-years of project management experience in the areas of peer-reviewed scientific publications or clinical development.
