The Tooling Engineer will be responsible for managing the design, development and implementation of molds / tooling required to support the development of new products and existing product capacity expansion.

He/ she will also support Product Development and Supply Chain Management in working with suppliers to procure required mold tooling to support new and existing production requirements.

Investigate & implement industry best practices in mold design / construction and validation.

*Work closely with product development teams to support the design of new products and build of required SLAs and prototype tools*Provide support to internal and outside tooling and molding suppliers.

* Work with Product Development, Engineering and Manufacturing in the design and development of high cavitation tooling to support production requirements.

* Lead tooling design and approval of process* Work with Quality Engineering on validation requirements to mitigate risks to assure robust production processes.

* Co-ordinate collaboration across Product Development, Engineering, Manufacturing and supplier partners to meet required cost, schedule and volume requirements.

* Identify improvement opportunities related to current product lines with regard to tooling, cost, quality, and or design.

* Identify potential new tooling concepts and processes.

* Continuously improve all aspects of product development and anticipate problems, providing input on solutions, reacting productively to change, and by handling other tasks as assigned.

* Lead the design, manufacture and procurement of dimensional & functional jigs / fixtures Required Qualifications: * Bachelors degree in Engineering* Must have 10+ years plastic injection mold building and tooling experience, prefer experience with tight tolerance tooling and resolving out of spec issues* Must have a thorough knowledge of thermoplastic material properties, tooling and molding processes.

Two Shot experience and knowledge of plastic flow analysis (Mold Flow or SigmaSoft) is a plus.

Strong materials background is preferred.
